On September 26, Autowise.ai received the first-ever license issued by Shanghai for autonomous road cleaning vehicles, marking a milestone in China. The license allows Autowise.ai’s fully self-developed Platforma-X autonomous sanitation vehicle, equipped with its Autowise V1 sweeping module, to operate on public roads in Shanghai. After passing complex road tests and evaluations, Autowise V1 will begin its autonomous street cleaning operations in the city.

To meet the licensing requirements, Platforma-X achieved a 100% pass rate completing a series of rigorous tests across 36 scenarios, ranging from traffic light and obstacle recognition to minimal-risk maneuver performance, all under various lighting conditions. This license represents a major milestone for the nationwide application of autonomous sanitation vehicles, signaling a step towards their standardized use on public roads.

The Platforma-X fully developed and produced by Autowise.ai, is built on the company’s Roboard-X shared chassis and features a cutting-edge L4 autonomous driving system. Its BEV (Bird’s Eye View) perception module boasts multi-tasking, multi-modal, and time-sequence capabilities, enhancing the system’s computational efficiency, precision, and ability to perceive dynamic objects. The vehicle also leverages large-scale model integration for seamless data exchange between the vehicle and cloud, optimizing decision-making in complex scenarios and ensuring operational safety through remote monitoring.

Autowise V1 is a pioneer in fully autonomous, integrated operations, capable of self-inspection, scheduled cleaning, garbage disposal, and automatic charging and refueling, creating a fully automated workflow.

It also includes Autowise.ai’s latest 1vN remote operation system, which ensures safety across various operational and network environments. The cloud-based safety AI monitors for any potential risks, and human operators can intervene remotely if needed, guiding the vehicle through challenging situations. In extreme cases, the remote operator can directly take control of the vehicle in real-time.

Designed without a driver’s cabin, Platforma-X requires no human driver and has gained widespread market acceptance and is already operating in cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hefei, and Suzhou.

The issuance of this license reflects the government’s recognition of Autowise.ai’s technical and operational strengths in the autonomous driving industry. As a global leader in autonomous commercialization, Autowise.ai will continue to collaborate with local governments to explore new pathways for industry growth, advancing high-quality and sustainable development in autonomous driving. The company remains committed to technological innovation, helping various industries build digital defenses and accelerating industrial upgrades, shaping the future of autonomous technology across sectors.
